ACES is a positive and fun 6-week summer program specifically designed for children who struggle academically, socially and emotionally, or behaviorally. Research has shown that children perform much better academically when they are helped to improve their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical functioning, and children who perform well academically typically have much better long-term outcomes. That’s why at ACES, children participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities that target all of these areas of healthy development.
We pride ourselves in providing rigorous clinical training and oversight to our staff. All staff training and supervision is led by Dr. Lopez-Williams, a licensed clinical neuropsychologist with over 20 years of experience in the assessment and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental and learning disorders.

Our program begins on Monday, July 9th and runs through Friday, August 17th.
Where is it located?
We are thrilled to announce that ACES will be offered at Notre Dame Jr. Sr. High School located at 2 Notre Dame Lane Utica, NY 13502.
At ACES, we target the following areas:
Children attend our learning center everyday where we focus on core academic skills (reading/math) and positive behavior (paying attention, completing seatwork). They also learn the importance of completing homework.
We utilize state-of-the-art computer software (OSMO™) to improve functioning in key cognitive domains including attention, executive, sensorimotor, and memory.
Children are taught skills and supported to use techniques to improve their emotional intelligence, resulting in improvements in their personal and interpersonal health.
Children are assigned to groups of similar-age peers wherein they learn to improve their social skills including making and keeping friends.

The cost of the program is $1000 (about $167/week) and is due in full by June 1st. Spots are limited so reserve your child’s space early with a $100 deposit!

We are excited to announce an internship opportunity with our ACES Summer Day Treatment Program. ACES Summer Day Treatment Program is operated by ADHD & Autism Psychological Services and Advocacy (AAPSA). AAPSA specializes in providing state-of-the-science assessment, treatment, and advocacy services in Central New York to children, adolescents, and adults with neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders.

We are currently accepting applications from bright and motivated individuals interested in an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the behavioral health field. No experience needed!
Summer Program staff will undergo intensive training in cognitive behavioral techniques and neurodevelopmental disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to gain training and practical work experience relevant for professional careers in the behavioral health, health, and education fields.
Summer Program staff will be creating and implementing structured activities, running morning and afternoon circles, facilitating physical activity through sports while providing support in areas such as self-regulation, social interaction, and communication. Staff will be learning and implementing a structured program for providing all participants both constructive feedback and positive labeled praise.
Training will take place June 25th-June 29th and ACES will run from July 9th- August 17th. Summer Program staff will be required to work 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
